My first late night dye studio session has occurred. I spent yesterday afternoon and evening sampling colours, patterns, and materials for my salt cod pillows. After working through about a dozen dyes I decided on marine blue, grass green, and burgundy. I was also apply to shoot my screen today and screen printing has begun. I have been working hard to document my processes in beautiful and interesting shots. Any thoughts? I am thrilled with my label, which you can see below. It will be printed directly on to the back of my pillows. I will have an example shown and stuffed for Thursday. I will upload some more images once I get all three of my colours completed this week.
I have decided to sell dyed scarves, ponchos, and pillows at the Busy Hands Craft store in Carbonear, NL. You can check out the progress of the shop on their facebook page. The link is https://www.facebook.com/busyhandsartsandcrafts . I will also be attending the Some Good Market on October.11th. It will be the first time I will be selling my pillows and I am excited to receive feedback and see the consumer response.
Here are some process shots I have taken in the last few days. Don’t worry, there are more to come! Enjoy!
